As fuel prices rise, so will human frustration, creating a desire, to feed and fuel our communities. .
Micro energy models will return to our countryside and to the farms.
The Energy discussion needs to factor in this "Energy Effect" on spending and reducing our need to import fuel and food.
Prince Edward Island is challenged like the rest of the world to effect changes and existing norms about energy.
How we get it to work best for our communities. We will need to think differently about our energy and how we produce it.
We create sollutions to get our needs met.
As we plan for our future energy and create a Prince Edward Island Energy strategy have we included the community energy and the innovative nature of prince Edward islanders to be the solutions in their environment of work, recreation, and home ?
This innovative human nature is the base of micro energy models.
They are practical and they work locally
Focusing on energy reduction and production shifts in the way we think and grow.
This Energy Effect is connected to our basic needs.
Given the correct leadership and public education we will be motivated to work together for our communities to fuel and feed our need to produce and sustain our way of life.
The micro farm model of grow and press is a sollution.
- The farmer grows his fuel for his farm and feeds his livestock.
- The farmer becomes less reliant on imported fuel and feed stocks.
- The farmer has less stress and more control over the farms energy and business.
My concern is that the current global crisis over growing food or growing fuel is clouding our focus and is based upon a mega biofuel production model .
The micro model of food and fuel begins with a grow and press operation.
Farmers will plow the way if an environment of energy and innovation incentives are there to help make it work on the farm.
Farm energy solutions need to be as simple as dirt, seeds, sun, and sweat in a healthy environment to grow.
Growing fuel for the farm needs to be looked upon as a way to take more control of fuel and fertilizer and feed for a better way to grow.
